Confidence Weakened Mildly in Industry and Services

Manufacturing confidence retreated slightly in March. Stocks of finished products rose while order books stayed unchanged. Construction confidence gained some points on March. The latest figure is 0 (-4 in February). The indicator is slightly above its long-term average -5.

Service confidence declined in March after a rise in February. The latest outcome is +14 points (revised fi gure +18 in February). The long-term average is +17. Sales assessments have remained positive, but views about the current economic situation have deteriorated slightly.

Retail trade confidence stayed almost unchanged in March. It scored +16 points (+15 in February). Its long-term average is 0 points. Sales volume continued to rise and a steady growth is expected, too.
