Public-Private-Partnerships’ (PPP’s) in wastewater management, New Delhi & Bengaluru, India 28 Nov - 1 December 2011.

The European Business and Technology Centre (EBTC)‚ in association with The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC)‚ and The German Development Corporation (GIZ) invite interested EU businesses and researchers to a two-city delegation to India on ‘PPP’s in Wastewater Management’ to be held in Delhi from 28th – 29th November 2011 and in Bengaluru from the 30th November – 1st December 2011.

The event aims to encourage knowledge exchange and collaboration between the European and Indian private and public sectors in the field of wastewater management.

Why India? India offers considerable scope for EU-Indian technology transfer in the field of wastewater management for a number of reasons. Just a few of these include:

• A staggering 78.75% of wastewater in India goes untreated, and it's not a problem that can go ignored for long.
• Due to India's economic and population growth, the demand for clean water will only increase over the years.
• Depleting water resources mean that there is pressure on industry to recycle wastewater.
• With more than 300,000 SMEs in India, 90% of them currently employ no wastewater treatment.

Delegates will be able to receive exclusive information and insight from high profile speakers. Whilst matchmaking events will encourage interaction with potential Indian business and research partners in the area of wastewater treatment in India. Delegates will also be able to opt for site visits to wastewater treatment plants in Bangalore, and more. Activities are free of cost, although delegates must bear their own expenses.
